My name is Andy Graham, I am a UK trained osteopath and sports massage therapist based in Prague and Jeseník with links to other English-speaking health professionals: personal trainers, yoga & pilates teachers, doctors and physiotherapists.
I believe that effective care requires an emphasis on exercise, 'healthy movement', an understanding of pain and 'optimising life-style factors' (sleep, diet, having fun etc) with manual methods in a supportive role.
I qualified as an osteopath in 2005 from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine and practised in various London clinics before moving to the Czech Republic. I have done several osteopathic and physiotherapy post-graduate courses, such as: Explain Pain, visceral osteopathy, mobilization of the nervous system, dry needling / acupuncture, cranial osteopathy and a strength and conditioning diploma. I use fewer manual therapy techniques (no manipulations or acupuncture/ dry needling and rarely visceral) these days as I believe that effective care is better achieved through an emphasis on education, exercise and healthy movement patterns.
I worked as a clinic tutor at Oxford Brookes University Osteopathy Department (sadly no longer with us) and was senior lecturer at the North London School of Sports Massage from 2004 to 2008 and 2014 - 2015, where I was also involved in course development. I also teach for ProActive Training across the UK.
Prior to osteopathy I studied at the London School of Sports Massage and hold a number of ITEC qualifications (International Therapy Examination Council).
